Welcome back friends.

My apology for the lack of post. It has been almost a month and a half and there were so much going on during that time:
  • A week vacation to Universal Orlando, FL. My fiance is obsessed with Harry Potter so we decided to spend this year vacation there.
  • Studied like almost every night for the Board Certified Pharmacology Specialist Exam. It took me the whole 5 hours to finish it and I hope I pass.
  • My brother graduation is this weekend, May 17th. My dad is here in town so I am taking a couple days of next week to show them around LA.
  • And last but not least, still working on converting my blog from Wix to WordPress.
Converting Wix to WordPress

The main thing that you have to remember on this journey is just be nice to everyone and always smile.

I wrote a blog back then about why I convert to WordPress. As soon as this domain become active, I will activate the link so you can read about it.

Step 1: Sign up with a new host and pick a new template

I worked with WordPress before so I know what to expect. Bluehost was super easy to work with and I got my discount through MakingSenseofCents. I want my blog to look professional and more focus on the content. I picked NewsPaper9 for this reason.

Step 2: Manually transfer your blog content

Yes, there is no other way to do it. I literally spend about 4 hours copy and paste the blog contents to the new site

Step 3: Transfer domain

After finished creating new WordPress blog and transferred all the contents over, I initiated the Domain Transfer process.

Here is how to do it:

Wix Dashboard–Setting–Domain–Advanced–Transfer away from Wix.

When you get to this step, Wix will reminded me to stop Automatic renewal and I did that. Wix sent me an email with the transfer code.

Transfering domain occurred in Bluehost Dashboard.

Select “Transfer This Domain to your Account” and follow their instruction. After transferring, you will see this message

Basically what it is saying is I either have to contact 5117-ns to speed up the transfer process or wait 7 days and the process will be completed. I did tried to call 5117-ns but didn’t have any luck. I guess I have no choice but wait 7 days.

Don’t forget to log into your account and confirm the activation.

That’s it for now guys. I will give you more updates on this process.

Enjoy your evening.
