Verify domain ownership is an important steps to make sure your website run smoothly with Google Console. Why Google Console is important you may ask. It helps measuring your site’s Search traffic and performance, fix issues, and make your site shine in Google Search results.

Step 1: register your site with Google Console.

After you select the hosting service, pick the name for your website, customize your website as you want, don’t forget to register your site. I can stress enough how important Google Console is to your website.

Step 2: Log in Google console to get the code

Google Console Verify

At the top left corner under “Search Property”, your site will be under “Not Verified”. I have already verify my site that’s why you don’t see it there any more. You can click “Verify” and a new window will pop up.

Step 3: Copy the code and head over to BlueHost

Code to verify your site from Google Console

The code you looking for is in the box similar to the above picture. Once on bluehost, click Domain and go to Zone Editor located at the bottom left corner as shown in the picture below

Find the Add DNS Record section, and click the Type drop-down list. Then select TXT. Adding this TXT record won’t affect your email or website.

Step 5: ReFresh your site and go back to Google Console.

Make sure to refresh your site. My site didn’t show that it was verified because I didn’t refresh the BlueHost page. Now you page is DSN verified.
