Over the weekend we had a chance to come back to one of our favorite beach: The Crescent Bay in Laguna. If you want a great spot that is easily accessible, not too crowded, family oriented, and available onsite restroom , you need to check this spot out.

Parking

Parking On Cliff street

We arrived at the location at noon. Crescent Bay is located in the residential area, so parking was a little tight. After patiently driving around for about 10 mins, we were lucky to find a meter right on Cliff street. Both sides of Cliff street are full of meters. Here are what you need to know:

  • It cost $1.25 for an hour/ 7 days of the week
  • Quarters and credits card options are available
  • Prepare to bring quarters because credit card options for some meter was broken.
  • There was a gas station right across from Cliff street that you might be able to exchange for more quarters.

Weather (tide)

June couldn’t provide us with better weather here in Southern California. Sun was outshining up until 3 in the afternoon when the cloud started to roll in. It was not windy at all but a perfect breeze. Tide was low in the morning but got higher towards the end of the day. Higher tide created some bigger waves. My poor tiny boogie board and I were not able to handle it.

Amenities

Crescent Bay walk way down

Listen to this: Bathroom and outdoor shower were available on site. Isn’t that great? You can bring your foods but be mindful and collect your trash after.

Activities

Crescent Bay

Waves were great for boogie board. But don’t underestimate the ocean as they could be very powerful. I got swept a couple times by big waves that came out of no where.

Recommendation for a good body board session:

BodyBoard Essentials
  • Good bodyboard ($39.99) I recommend a good board because I got mine at Target for $10 and the lease kept coming out.
  • Wetsuits ($59): you might get cold if staying in the water for too long.
  • Fins ($26.55 for a Large): You need it to catch the waves faster.

Lifeguard staffs

They were friendly and intervened in an urgent situation to warns beachgoers. The ocean could be perilous. Many of us out there didn’t know how to boogie board properly. There were a lot of neck and shoulder injuries happened because of big waves.

Local Restaurants

Photos for C’est La Vie – Outside

There were many places to choose from this beautiful little town. We picked C’est La Vie because it was a fantastic place to experience French cuisine. The appetizer was the Jumbo Mushroom filled with crabs. For the main dish, we shared Seafood Fettuccine Pasta, and there couldn’t be a better choice. It was just a right portion packed with jumbo shrimps, lobster tail, and fish. The sauce was creamy and delicious. We couldn’t leave without ordering deserts, and theirs were to die for. We forgot to take pictures of the restaurants, so please enjoy these photos below from Yelp.
